OMG! Tuna Fish Casserole.

(I thought the plastic utensils, plastic cup and Diet Coke were appropriate for this dish)

I have to admit that I totally expected to dislike this dish. In fact, part of the reason I made it was just because there was mac and cheese in the pantry.

Well, My first few bites were tough to swallow. I was having a difficult time getting over the fact that I was eating "raw" condensed soup and canned tuna, pretty much straight from the can. I couldn't help thinking, after I mixed the mac with the soup and tuna, that I wasn't done. It seemed like I was missing some steps... like, "place in casserole dish, sprinkle canned fried onions and bake for 30 minutes on low."

Without the crunchy top layer of a baked casserole, this dish seemed like something else. I think it roughly tries to approximates a cheesy fettucini alfredo with fish... a dish that I have never seen at a restaurant. And even though they are purported to be the "cheeziest," this dish had more. I am pretty sure it is the addition of the cream of mushroom that transforms a cheesy dinner into a creamy meal. It had a creamy finesse previously unheard of in even the creamiest of mac and cheeses.

This dish cannot be that good for you. I didn't even want to think about how much fat and sodium I was eating. You can almost hear the arteries clogging after a few bites. I speculate that a person should only eat this dish a few times a year, to give the body a chance to recouperate. Intriguingly, even though I ridiculed this dish from the start, I found myself trying to think of ways to make the dish healthier so that I could eat it more often... maybe I did like it.

I noticed that this dish tastes almost exactly the same when eating microwaved leftovers the next day... not exactly sure how that is possible. Totaly amazing.

Okay here is the recipe again...

OMG! Tuna Fish Casserole:

Macaroni & cheese

One can cream of mushroom soup

One can tuna

Mix together and ENJOY!!! That's like, my favorite meal.

And here is the "making of" your recipe...

This is one of those dishes where you might have all of the ingredient in the kitchen already.

That's how it was for me... So, I gather all the ingredients together...

the mac and cheese directions calls for margarine, but I didn't have any...

So I make the mac and cheese by following the directions on the box,

when it was done, I readied the other ingredients. it doesn't say in the recipe,

but I assume that I am supposed to drain the tuna before puting it in.

I put in all the ingredients and mixed...

and now, according to the instructions on the recipe,

I should be done. ready to eat! I thought Diet Coke would be the perfect compliment to this meal.

Thanks Angel!
